Herd-seeking souls are a variety of souls of hopelessness. They are tormented little souls that enter a self-trial period after death instead of graduating directly into demons when they're on the edge of the afterlife.
Herd-seeking souls act like solar flares, where they throw off frequencies and reception and airwaves. They have the power to throw off wireless Internet and interfere with anything electrically. If it's the right circumstances and the right environment, herd-seeking souls can help lead the way for a natural disaster and a storm. They herd together like massive swarms of bees, often traveling ahead of hurricanes, tsunamis, or solar flares.
Herd-seeking souls are not demons yet (although most do become derms), so they have to climb on each other to build strength and wreak havoc. They have to be around each other in multiples to antagonize and influence people. Herd-seeking souls try to use strength in numbers, tending to stack on top of each other, forming a foundation for group strength.
Because herd-seeking souls work in numbers, their antagonism comes with a wave of negative energy that can, most of the time, be harmless. Sometimes they can create just enough of a riff to make someone feel weird in a situation where they wouldn't normally feel weird.
Most herd-seeking souls haven't done the most horrific things. They're tormented. They're confused. They think they're doing something good by pandering to real demons and fallen angels. Some herd-seeking souls are posers. Herd-seeking souls are not good souls—there's sinister behavior, they're crafty in a mischievous way—yet they're not entirely dark. They weren't totally evil people. They're confused, lost souls.
These souls go on self-trial to determine if they can even become derms. They can become evil and do dark deeds as demons. Or a herd-seeking soul also has the potential ability to redefine itself, leave the herd, and take a dangerous journey to the heaven of the second without any angelic assistance.
